New Wayfaring Strange RPG 1-Shot, with House GM Katie on Tuesday, June 9th, from 6pm to 11pm, 5 Seats Maximum
About this experience
-Wayfaring Strange RPG-
Texas:
A death. Old friendships rekindled. A hometown you weren’t sure you’d return to, and a long road leading you away.
Its spring break of your first year of college, and a funeral has brought you back to your hometown and reconnected you to the friends you knew before.
That was yesterday, and today holds a different path – a road trip west with those friends and an oath. Put another way, promises to keep, and miles to go before you sleep.
Anyone who’s been on the road long enough knows that you may stumble into a world unlike the one you left – One of waylaid souls, places time left behind, and tales strange enough to be true.
So take the back roads, where the blacktop disappears to the horizon, where things are not always what they seem.
-This one-shot game is not a game of D&D-
We will be using a RP heavy, diceless system called Wayfaring Strange.
Players should expect to lean into storytelling elements of the game and due to the premise, should expect to deal with themes of death and grief, as well as supernatural and horror elements.
Please bring 10-15 small items to be used as tokens in the game – little things with character like keychains, pressed pennies, or other travel-related trinkets are recommended.
Currently planned as a one-shot with the potential to run up to a four-shot.
Inspirations: Kentucky Route Zero, Alice isn’t dead, Texas/American Folklore

House GM Katie's Backstory:
Hello there!
My Name is Hayley (AKA House GM Katie, for coding reasons) and I’ve been playing/running TTRPGs since 2020. Like a lot of people in quarantine, I had too much time on my hands and nothing to do other than watch 5e live plays and finally got what my sibling has been talking about for years. I started out running games – turns out it’s easier to get a party together when you’re willing to run it.
My favorite thing about TTRPGs is the storytelling potential. From gods to a single weird town, I love the worlds that can be made and the characters players bring to populate them. I like to run different systems to tell these stories, and anyone wanting to tell a story and willing to learn is welcome.
