About this experience

The Silver Marches:

A 5th Edition (2014) Campaign.

Greetings Adventurers!  The Lords Alliance has called out for any able and willing souls to travel to the Silver Marches to aid in the defense of Silverymoon and the liberation of Sundabar!  During the summer of the year 1358 DR, the Orcs of Citadel Adbar (the Citadel of 10,000 Arrows) launched a massive assault. They quickly overran and assimilated the Goblin tribes of the Rauvin mountains and began their siege of Sundabar.  The human and dwarven city held out until the winter, falling after months of siege.  Uthgardt barbarian tribes joined the frenzy, attacking along the Rauvin Vale out of the High Forest, ultimately trapping many of the free folk in Silverymoon and Everlund.

The Orcs, Goblins and Barbarians have always been threats in the region, but never have they stood together in an organized fashion against the defenders of the Silver Marches.  Whispers and rumors fill the air; many folks sure of a greater evil that has brought these disparate forces to heel and unified them into an effective army.  Who or what is behind this war - are the dark elves of the Underdark supporting this war, or is there something more sinister (and powerful) behind the fall of Sundabar?

Your party has joined in the defense of Silverymoon, but not as ordinary soldiers. You will travel the Evermoors, the High Forest and the Nether Mountains, pushing back enemy forces and searching for clues or signs of a greater power at work behind the scenes.  This adventure will contain plenty of combat as well as wilderness and dungeon exploration; diplomatic skills and roleplaying ability will also be featured. The adventure is set in the Forgotten Realms, in the northeastern section of the Sword Coast (The Savage Frontier). Races will be limited to 2014 PHB and Sword Coast adventure guides; classes and subclasses from any 2014 (official) content are allowed.

We will be planning for a session zero on our first session. PC's should be native to the Forgotten Realms, traveling from an existing settlement to Silverymoon.  Backgrounds and Backstories should make sense for a level 1 character.  I am a "RAW" DM (Rules as Written), and we will run the game by the book as much as possible. I discourage min/max, power gamer, "rule of cool" - type players from joining my games; we strive for a balanced table that allows for each player to have an impact.
Newer players are welcome, but this is a progressive, long-term campaign.  Please let me know if you have any questions, and I hope to play with you soon!

Greetings Everyone,

My name is Jim, and I am grateful to be a part of the team at RPGdungeons. I have a very long history with gaming; starting with BECMI Dungeons and Dragons and continuing through all five editions. I am currently managing several long-running 5th edition games and have been DM’ing the 5e system for three years.. I have been playing tabletop games since I was 11 years old, both RPG and tactical/strategy, including D&D, Twilight:2000, Cyberpunk 2020, Battletech, Squad Leader, Star Fleet Battles (and many more).

I am well-versed in 5th edition D&D and I am looking forward to hosting games of all sorts. I have a focus on classic D&D content and settings, updated for current rulesets. I specialize in updating classic modules and content for use in the 5e rule system, and will offer a selection of short adventures and campaigns based on settings including Greyhawk, Mystara, Planescape and Forgotten Realms.

I believe that D&D is a collaborative game, with the key word being game. I do my very best to administer my games as close to official 5e rules as possible; I want our focus to be on enjoying the game with each other, with everyone working within the same ruleset and expectation. I can offer either a learning experience for brand new players, a tactical experience for moderately skilled players, or very challenging adventures for the more experienced players - all while experiencing the history and classics of our hobby! Please sign up for discord, facebook and our newsletter so we can get something rolling!
