Brindlewood Bay: Part 1
This week, on Brindlewood Bay – Dad Overboard!
A corpse has washed up on the shores of Brindlewood Bay! The Boston Financier found dead on the beach was last seen on a Yacht with his family, who has vacationed in the town for years. Was it an unfortunate accident, or Murder Most Foul? And does something else lurk beneath the waves and shadows of Brindlewood Bay? The Murder Mavens are on the Case!
This game uses the Brindlewood Bay gaming system, a narrative and player driven game where the GM sets up the puzzle pieces of a mystery and the players determine how they fit together. Players are the Murder Mavens, a collection of retired grandmothers living out their golden years in Brindlewood Bay, and members of a Murder Mystery Book Club. It is a cozy-creepy story, equal parts cozy social and lovecraftian horror. It is a 2d6 system, and character creation will be done at the beginning of a session. As the game progresses, Players will uncover the secrets lurking beneath the pristine exterior of Brindlewood Bay.

This is part one of a 5-6 part series, and while the underlying story will build over the games, each is a self-contained mystery. Players can drop in and out as needed. Some lore for the world is laid out in the Looking-for-Group post on the RPG Dungeons discord.

Hello there!
My Name is Hayley (AKA House GM Katie, for coding reasons) and I’ve been playing/running TTRPGs since 2020. Like a lot of people in quarantine, I had too much time on my hands and nothing to do other than watch 5e live plays and finally got what my sibling has been talking about for years. I started out running games – turns out it’s easier to get a party together when you’re willing to run it.
My favorite thing about TTRPGs is the storytelling potential. From gods to a single weird town, I love the worlds that can be made and the characters players bring to populate them. I like to run different systems to tell these stories, and anyone wanting to tell a story and willing to learn is welcome.
